RM Equity Partners sells first-ever investment Alpy to strategic partner after more than ten years
RMEP built the online ski rental marketplace into Europe’s market leader together with its founders — and now hands over to PNS Mountain Investment Services.
RM Equity Partners (RMEP) has sold its majority stake in 2beGROUP s.r.o., the company operating Alpy.com. Alpy was the very first investment RMEP ever made. After more than ten years of partnership, RMEP hands the company over to a strategic buyer: PNS Mountain Investment Services, S.L. (“PNS”).
The collaboration with Alpy’s three founders ranks among the defining chapters in RMEP’s history. Over that period, Alpy.com evolved from an industry pioneer into the market leader in online ski rental. Today, the platform connects more than 1,150 ski rental shops across Europe with winter sports enthusiasts worldwide. The company grew profitably and under its own steam throughout.
The exit exemplifies RMEP’s approach: acquire established digital marketplaces with a clear focus, build them into market leaders together with the founders over many years, and hand over to the right strategic owner at the right time.
“Alpy was our very first investment. Together with the three founders, we built the company into the market leader in online ski rental over ten years. Handing Alpy over to a strategic partner like PNS is a fitting conclusion to this shared journey,” says Nicola Szekely, Managing Partner at RMEP.
PNS ranks among the leading operators of ski, snowboard and bike rental businesses in the Pyrenees, with over 40 years of experience and 36 stores across Andorra and Spain’s leading ski destinations. Founders Gunther Dillersberger, Thomas Glössner and Manuel Tenschert continue to lead Alpy.com together with CFO Jochen Punzet. Pava Partners Germany AG and Clairfield International acted as financial advisors on the transaction.
