RM Equity Partners (RMEP) hosted this year's edition of RMEP Unite on 16 and 17 April in Rome, bringing together around 60 senior leaders from 11 portfolio companies.
RMEP Unite is the firm's annual gathering for the portfolio group. The format centers on direct peer exchange between operators from different companies — without panels or keynotes.
Day one was built around peer-led Round Tables on concrete operational challenges. Three rounds of seven parallel tables gave 21 participants the chance to lead a discussion on a topic from their own practice. Subjects ranged from AI in daily operations to scaling across markets, hiring, and organizational design.
Day two shifted to three parallel hands-on workshops. Martin Schröcker led an Agent Sprint on the OpenClaw platform, in which each participant built a working AI agent around a real business problem over four hours. Jan and Audrey from 9X led a second workshop on productive team-level use of Claude Code and Claude Cowork. A third session, led by Camilla Smerieri, addressed leadership communication — closing the gap between what senior operators say and what their teams hear.
Two insights dominated the discussions. The prompt is becoming the new brief — the bottleneck in AI adoption is shifting from execution to articulation, and the teams that describe desired outcomes precisely before delegating to AI get the most out of the technology. And AI adoption lands through demonstration, not instruction — concrete use cases move organizations more reliably than top-down mandates or training theory.
Insights from the event are being consolidated into a shared knowledge library, accessible across the portfolio. The next edition of RMEP Unite will be held in Madrid.
