RMEP / 9X Hackathon: More than 30 automations built in just three days

Twenty-five employees from ten portfolio companies of RM Equity Partners (RMEP) came together for the first group-wide RMEP / 9X Hackathon, building over 30 fully functional automation and AI-based tools in just three days. The goal of the event was to identify and solve real-world operational challenges using generative AI and no-code platforms.
The hackathon marked the culmination of a five-month learning initiative launched in partnership with 9X, an AI-focused consultancy based in Berlin. Starting in the summer of 2025, RMEP teams participated in a structured training program including webinars, online workshops, and hands-on exercises. The initiative aimed to empower teams across the portfolio with the skills to use generative AI and build practical solutions independently.
Participating companies included calimoto, Bergfex, Publi24, CBK, Pure, Erento and Alpy. In addition, members of the RMEP core team developed internal tools for fund operations, AI-assisted communication, and investment analysis.
Project outcomes ranged from automated reporting dashboards and LinkedIn content generators to AI-powered customer support agents, invoice processing systems, and campaign management tools. Many of these tools are already in use or being scaled across companies, with measurable time savings and quality improvements reported by the teams.
"The speed and quality of the solutions demonstrate the depth of innovation across our network—especially when teams collaborate across companies and disciplines," said Eugen B. Russ, Managing Partner at RM Equity Partners.
